Le Bead-Aime Jewelry was born from a deeply personal moment of healing.
While living in the UK, a friend gifted me waistbeads from Ghana — deep blues, golds, and that shimmered with sacred beauty. At the time, I didn’t feel confident in my body. I was self-conscious, unsure, and deeply disconnected from my femininity. But the moment I adorned those beads, something shifted. I felt radiant. Feminine. Empowered. Like I could finally see myself again.
When I returned home to Turks and Caicos, I longed to feel that way again. A year had passed, and my waistbeads had popped off — but the memory of their magic lingered. As I sat creating a new set just for me, I had the thought: What if I made these for other women too?
So I did.
The name Le bead-Aime comes from a jewelry business I started in high school — originally selling polymer clay creations and anime-inspired accessories. It was a play on my own last name, Bien-Aimé, which means “well-loved” or “beloved.” Years later, I realized how divinely aligned that name still was — this time for something much deeper.
Though I’m not Ghanaian, I am of the African diaspora, and I wanted to honor the roots of waistbeads while infusing them with my own spiritual practice. That’s when I began creating intentional waistbeads — made with colors, crystals, and affirmations to support self-love, abundance, protection, and alignment.
